Summer Heat Wave

April 9th, 2014

Are you feeling hot, hot, hot?

Last summer was a scorcher wasn’t it? Here at the Oakeley Arms we remember the long, hot summer days, the balmy nights, the bustling beer garden and the jolly customers, all too happy to be basking in the sunshine with a pint of lovely cool ale in hand.

Surely that kind of summer is a one off, one that occurs once about every twenty years? Surely we can’t be lucky enough to have two such wonderful summers in a row? Well, if weather forecasters are correct then the summer of 2014 is set to be a scorcher as well!

Experts are predicting that we’ll have another so called “super-summer” with soaring temperatures that will last for four months, taking us well into mid-summer, and past the usual rainy July. Temperatures have already started rising, with wall-to-wall sunshine in many areas of the UK, especially in the South. But up here in Snowdonia, we’ve had our fair share of rays too!

So with a fabulous summer heat wave on the way, who needs Spain, Greece or Jamaica this year?? A stay-cation in beautiful sunny Wales will not only be cheaper, it’ll mean less travelling and more fun and there’ll be no need to exchange any pound coins, wait a decade for your luggage to spin round or sit through hours of air travel next to the world’s loudest snorer……

And if you’re still looking for some Snowdonia accommodation inspiration, then why not have a peek at our website for some options – we’ve got lovely self-catering cottages or plenty of single, double and family rooms in the hotel itself.

So, all fingers crossed that the weather man has done his homework correctly and that the Great British Summer Heat Wave is coming to a beach near you soon…. We’ll see you in the beer garden!
