Spring in your Step

Spring may just finally be on the way! What do you think, is the weather warming up where you are? Here in beautiful Snowdonia the sun is warming up, the spring flowers are blooming and it seems a lovely place to be.

As there are so many gorgeous Spring flowers out at the moment our blog this week will take you on a lovely walk where you’ll hopefully be able to spot daffs, snowdrops, crocus and maybe even early bluebells. Guaranteed to put a spring in your step!

Where:              Rhyd y Sarn Car Park, Maentwrog, Gwynedd (leave the Oakeley Arms car park, turn left then left again onto main road towards Maentwrog. Just after bridge turn left for Blaenau Ffestiniog, then veer left again at bottom of hill. The car park is soon after on the right.) Please check with us if you’re unsure where to start.

Start:                Car Park at Rhyd y Sarn (SH 690 422)

Maps:               OS Explorer 18 Harlech, Porthmadog and Y Bala.

 

Directions:

  • 1:  From Car Park turn left along road, then soon turn left up track. Follow through gate.
  •  2: After ruined buildings on left, turn left leading downhill
  • 3: Cross stream at footbridge and follow path to left uphill until you reach road.
  • 4: Cross road, turning right. Continue alongside road uphill to a lay-by on left.
  • 5: Turn to left and go through gate, signed for Coed Cymerau, then left again at the information board.
  • 6: Follow clearly marked path back down through forest, keeping to left where track forks; passing through several gates to emerge on road opposite car park at start.
