We hope you’ve all remembered that it’s Mother’s Day this weekend (of course, we knew you wouldn’t forget!!)? How will you be spoiling your mum? Flowers, fizz, chocolates, jewellery, spa day? There are loads of ways you can say “thank you mum”!

And thank you we should say. Because did you know that the average mum clocks up a staggering 1,400 “working” days in the 18 years it takes to bring up a child. A new study by card retailer Clinton’s has revealed that the average mum will:

• Wash 6,500 pairs of socks
• Cook 10,000 meals
• Make 5,290 beds
• Conjure up 1,520 packed lunches (using 152 loaves of bread!)
• Complete 3,040 school runs – totaling over 5,000 miles (the distance between London and LA!)
• Does 10,750 hours of housework.

And these are per child. You can double, triple or quadruple those numbers if mum is looking after more children.
