- Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre – one of the leading MTB centres in Britain, Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau has got something for everyone. There are hardcore tracks to test your mountain bike skills, alongside family friendly/beginner routes for those that prefer their mountain biking at a slower rate. The visitor centre is also a great base for cyclists, with bike hire, repair shop and a great cafe and information centre. See here for more details.
- Ffordd Brailsford Way – named in honour of cycling coach and legend David Brailsford (who was brought up near Caernarfon), these two cycle routes are 50 and 75 miles long, and take riders through some of the most stunning scenery in northern Snowdonia. It’s an on-road cycle route so some experience of road cycling is helpful, but the stunning landscapes are worth it – the route goes over the fantastic Pen y Pass – one of the most picturesque roads in Snowdonia. This really Snowdonia cycling at it’s finest. For more details, see here
- Lon Las, Ogwen – a lovely off-road family friendly cycle trail that heads from the town of Bangor up to the lovely Llyn Ogwen, running along a disused railway track for much of the way. See here for more information.
- Antur Stiniog – one of the best downhill mountain biking trails in Wales and situated in the stunning landscape of the disused slate mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Antur Stiniog offers the best mountain biking uplift in the region. The routes are open to beginners and advanced cyclists, and there’s also a great visitor centre with cafe and bike wash and maintenance centre. See here for more.
