Snowdonia and North Wales is becoming something of a haven if you’re a festival go-er, with some of the biggest events on the festival calendar taking place here over the summer months. And as the weather’s getting warmer our thoughts are turning to the summer – long sunny days, balmy evenings, and of course some of the best festivals in the country!

As well as the big names like Wakestock and Festival Number 6 there are loads of smaller and diverse festivals taking place across the region. Gottwood Festival is an electronic music and arts festival on Anglesey in June. Ymuno Festival is a family music, arts and poetry festival near Abergele in July, the North Wales Bluegrass Festival is on at the end of June. This year, the massive All Tomorrow’s Parties festival will take place in Prestatyn, in  North East Wales.

One festival that has gone from strength to strength is the Glass Butter Beach Festival in Abersoch. It’s a celebration of water sports, great music and a sunny beach lifestyle. It takes place in the gorgeous coastal location of Abersoch, just a short drive from us here at the Oakeley Arms Hotel. There are 5 different music stages, a surf village, a huge market area as well as loads of mouth watering food offerings. Some of the water sports offered at the festival include surfing, stand up paddleboarding and wakeboarding contests.

And if all that isn’t enough, Glass Buttter Beach have just announced some of their headline acts – Kodaline, Wolf Alice, Katy B, Mystery Jets, Jamie Lawson and DJs Patrick Topping and Andy C are just some of the top names that have been booked for this year’s extravaganza.
