Oh yes, there’s the whiff of chocolate, chocolate, chocolate in the air. Ooooo, and is that a hot cross bun I smell as well? Yep, you guessed it – Easter is upon us and it’s one of our favourite holidays (nothing to do with the chocolate, of course….).

Within 1 mile:

• Jump on one of the lovely Ffestiniog Railway steam trains at the Plas Tan-y-Bwlch station

• Visit the iconic Portmeirion Village
• Head up to Blaenau Ffestiniog – adventure capital of North Wales. You can try Europe’s fastest Zip Wire, bounce the day away on giant underground trampolines or zoom down the slate heaps on mountain bikes – awesome!
• Explore part of the famous Wales Coast Path – walk as much or as little as you like

Within 10 miles

• Head to the harbour town of Porthmadog to visit the maritime museum, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways and the lovely beaches of Borth-y-Gest
• Enjoy a day out on the stunning Harlech beach, then visit the historic 13th century castle
• Follow in the footsteps of the Manic Street Preachers and head to Black Rock beach nr Porthmadog

Within 15 miles

• Step back in time at the ruined Criccieth castle
• Visit the childhood home of Welsh Prime Minister David Lloyd George at Llanystumdwy
• Get on your bike at Coed y Brenin – one of Wales’ mountain biking hotspots
• Head through Snowdonia to the picturesque village of Beddgelert to visit Gelert’s Grave and the Sygyn Copper Mine

Within 30 miles

• Visit the resort town of Barmouth and enjoy a stick of rock on the beach.
• Hop on the Fairbourne Railway for a trip across the bay
• Enjoy a stroll around the lovely Bala lake (and a trip on the vintage railway)
• Explore the historic town of Caernarfon with it’s dockland area, ancient castle, roman ruins, heritage railway and town walls
• Go to the brilliant Gypsy Wood Park. Big and little kids alike will love this mixture of park animals, miniature railways and loads of fun things to do
