Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge

Trail Betws

So, what are you up to this weekend? Lounging on the sofa, hiding under the duvet, fighting off the winter blues? Well, why not get out and about in our beautiful Snowdonia and try something a little different?

The Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge is running this weekend for it’s second year, and it’s a great way to combine a bit of a fitness challenge with seeing some of the stunning scenery and countryside of Snowdonia and the lovely village of Betws-y-Coed, which is just a stone’s throw from the Oakeley Arms Hotel.

There’s a 5k and a 10k course, both start in the village centre before heading southwards through the Coed Gartheryr woodland, around the Llyn Elsi Dam (10k race only) and back northwards running a parallel course with the river below before reaching the finishing point back at Betws-y-Coed again. The routes follow some of the region’s most stunning woodland trails and public footpaths, so you’ll get to see a beautiful part of Snowdonia, all whilst getting fit (or fitter!).

And even better, this great event is being held in support of the charity Help for Heroes, a charity that supports wounded, sick or injured servicemen or women that have fought for their country in conflicts such as the war in Afghanistan, and others. It’s a very worthy cause, and it promises to be a great day – with plenty of entertainment for the whole family, so even if you don’t fancy taking part in the Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge itself, why not pop over and join in the party atmosphere?

The race starts at 1pm on Saturday 8th November, with registration open from 9:30 to 12:45 at the Waterloo Hotel. You’ll find all the information you need at www.trailbetws.com

Good luck trailers!!
