So, who fancies going a bit wild this half term in Snowdonia? Come on, we know you’re up for it!

And of you’re wondering just what kind of wild…… Animal wild of course! Here are our pick of the best animal and wildlife days out in Snowdonia so you can let your wild side loose this half term.

• Osprey Watching nr Porthmadog – these glorious birds of prey have returned to the edge of Snowdonia and are in breeding pairs along the river Glaslyn.
• Dolphin Spotting in Cardigan Bay – Cardigan Bay is one of Britain’s best locations to see the gorgeous Bottle Nosed Dolphin because we have a very large population of them here. There are several boat trips you can take out into the Bay, and this time of year is a great time to see the Atlantic Seal pups too.

• Wild flowers and birdlife at the Gwaith Powdwr Nature Reserve – this former industrial landscape (a ruined explosives factory) was donated to the Wildlife Trust and has now become a thriving home for wildlife, birds and animals.
• Deer in Coed-y-Brenin – this magnificent forest situated between the Oakeley Arms and the town of Dolgellau is known, among many other things, for it’s thriving population of Fallow Deer.
• Welsh Mountain Goats in Beddgelert – the foothills of Snowdonia are one of the best places to see the Welsh Mountain Goat as they come down from higher ground in early winter.
• Underwater Wildlife at the Anglesey Sea Zoo – a short drive up to lovely Anglesey will take you to the island’s fantastic sea zoo where you can learn not only about the local marine wildlife but also see some pretty exotic species too!
• Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay – it’s not right on the doorstep but an hour or so’s drive is well worth it for this brilliant zoo where you’ll be able to spot leopards, chimpanzees, sea-lions, penguins and birds of prey.
