Hands up who’s planning a camping trip this summer in North Wales? If you are then there are plenty of gorgeous spots to choose from. And what better way to enjoy a camping trip than a lovely campfire? There’s something very nostalgic about sitting round a campfire, stargazing and toasting marshmallows, and here’s some great ideas for some campfire treats that will have the whole family saying mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
- Campfire Smores – top a biscuit with three chocolate buttons and a marshmallow. add another biscuit for a “lid” and wrap in tin foil. place carefully on the grill/bbq for 2 minutes each side. open up, grab a spoon and enjoy!
- Mallow Dippers – put a handful of chocolate buttons in the foil tray and place on the grill/bbq. once melted push mallows onto a skewer and dip into the melted chocolate.
- Banana Melts – take a whole banana in its skin and slice along the long top edge. fill the slice with chocolate and mallow pieces then wrap in tinfoil and carefully place at the edge of a campfire. wait ten minutes, remove the foil and devour the gooey yumminess. it’s hot!
- Baileys Melts – one for the grown ups!! Push a marshmallow onto a skewer and toast over the campfire. when it’s melted and gooey, dip it into a glass of baileys.
