Peek-a-Boo!

The summer holidays are drawing to a close (one more week to go, wow they’ve gone fast this year!) and by now, your ideas on how to keep the kids entertained are probably waning, and the kids are probably less than enthusiastic about any ideas you do have!

As a last attempt to see out the summer holidays in happy style, why not try a giant game of outdoor hide and seek. This much loved game is a firm favourite indoors for rainy days, but how about a spectacular outdoor version of  hide and seek – snowdonia hide and seek?! Not only will it keep the kids entertained, but it’ll also get the whole family running around outdoors, and visiting some spectacular places at the same time.

There are some fascinating buildings and attractions in Snowdonia that would make for a fantastic game of hide and seek. Our best suggestions are below.

• Harlech Castle – loads of nooks, crannies and ancient walls to hide behind and in! Listen out for the ghostly whispers of the ancient kings and queens.
• Borth-y-Gest beach – this lovely beach is packed full of coves, rocks and sand dunes; all perfect for a beach based hide and seek!
• Bounce Below – this maze of underground trampolines is perfect for hide and seek with a difference!
• Gypsy Wood Park – with over 20 acres of green spaces, playground areas, miniature trains, gypsy caravans, secret dens and woodland walks, this animal park is the perfect place for outdoor hide and seek!
• Coed y Brenin – this ancient forest has thousands of huge trees and acres of paths and woodland trails to explore, and it’s just perfect for a game of outdoor hide and seek!
• Portmeirion – as well as the colourful village itself with lots of secret buildings, huge statues and hidden cubby holes, there are also acres of wild land and forest behind the village.
• Shell Island – there are loads of great hiding places among the natural dunes and long sandy beaches here.

So, pack your blindfold and your sense of adventure, and why not try a fun day of Snowdonia hide and seek?
