Britain’s favourite charity for wildlife is calling on nature lovers across the country to take part in a brilliant event next week to celebrate the best of British wildlife.

The RSPB Big Wild Sleepout will take place between the 16th and 22nd June, and whether you want to spend a night under the stars in your own garden, or take part in one of the special events going on, the RSPB are encouraging people to get closer to nature and find out exactly what wildlife you share your garden with. And, while you’re at it, you could be sponsored by friends and family to raise money for the RSPB too!

And whether you choose to pitch the family tent, build your own den, use the garden trampoline or simply to sleep wild under the stars, it’s bound to be fun-filled adventure that the whole family will love. Why not get the kids involved and organise a bug-hunt, wildlife spotting or a den-building competition? They’ll love the excitement of sleeping out under the stars.

The RSPB are also hosting their own RSPB Big Wild Sleepout at some of their reserves:

• RSPB Conwy on Saturday 21 June from 6pm.Price: Adult RSPB members £22, non-members £30. Child RSPB members £12, non-members £16.
• RSPB Ynys-hir on Saturday 21 June from 4pm. Price: Non RSPB Member Adults £30 each, Children £15 each. RSPB Member Adults £25 each, Children £12.50 each, Under fives free.
• Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve on Saturday 21 June from 5pm. Price: Adult RSPB Members £22, Adult Non Members £30. Child RSPB Members £12, Child Non Members £16.
