RSPB Big Wild Sleepout
July 28th, 2016
So, the school holidays are officially here! And if you’re sctatching your head and wondering what to do with your little darlings for six whole weeks, then you’ll find all the excitment and adventure you need here in Snowdonia.
And we’re really excited about on big adventure coming up this weekend – the RSPB’s Big Wild Sleepout. RSPB Cymru is once again urging nature lovers to spend a night under the stars and is challenging children and families across Wales to go on a mini-adventure, get wild and discover what goes bump in the night with the amazing nocturnal wildlife on their doorstep. Because, while you’re sound asleep and snoring in your cosy bed, the natural world outside comes alive as nocturnal creatures go about their lives under cover of darkness.
For the fourth year running, happy campers across the country are being encouraged to sleep out in their own gardens or outdoor spaces to get close to nature and discover which creatures they share their homes with.
You can either organise a sleep out in your own back garden or camp out at one of the RSPB’s nature reserves across Wales, that are opening overnight especially for the RSPB Big Wild Sleepout weekend.
If you register online, the RSPB will even send you a pack full of night time ideas, activities and information about how to make your wild adventure fun and safe!
So, what are you waiting for? Discover the secrets of nocturnal wildlife and open your eyes to a whole new starry world…… have a wonderful adventure! And do let us know what you discover.
