Happy Snowdonia Days Out

Unless you’ve been living on Planet Pluto for the last few weeks you will know that one of the most significant referendums in living memories has taken place this week in Britain, and many of us will have heard of nothing else on the country’s television and media channels.
The country has voted in it’s millions and Britain will now prepare for the long and slow process of leaving the EU. For many across the country this may not be a favourable outcome. So in order to cheer up anyone who’s glum about the result, here are some wonderfully happy Snowdonia days out. Forget politics and cheer yourself up with a day out in our wonderful Welsh region! - Bounce Below and Zip World, Blaenau Ffestiniog – Bounce away all your troubles with this awesome adventure deep in the historic slate mines of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Find more information here
- Snowdon Mountain Railway, Llanberis – for a more sedate, but no less awesome adventure, why not head up to Wales’ highest mountain on the historic train. Just choose a clear and sunny day to make the most of the stunning views….. Find out more information here
- Electric Mountain, Llanberis – for a truly electrifying day out then why not try the brilliant Electric Mountain experience in Llanberis? This Hydro-Electric power station will take you on an awesome journey through the depths of the earth…. Find out more information here
- Ffestiniog Railway, Porthmadog – for one of the most glorious railway journeys in Britain, right through the heart of Snowdonia, you can’t beat the Ffestiniog Railway. It’s simply stunning, so any grumpy thoughts about politics will soon disappear! Find out more information here
- Portmeirion Village – for a taste of Italy without even leaving North Wales then head to the gorgeous Portmeirion Village for a day. You’ll find wonderful restaurants, shops, cafes and beautiful scenery (as well as a gorgeous beach). Just add sunshine for a real Mediterranean feel….. Find out more information here
- Climb Cnicht – if you fancy escaping the crowds and reflecting on the world then a hike up one of Snowdonia’s quieter mountains should do the trick. Cnicht is a beautiful climb with some glorious views across southern Snowdonia.
- Castle Crazy – head back in time and discover what life was like way before the EU was even dreamt of by exploring the ancient castles of North Wales. You’ll find wonderful medieval castles at Harlech, Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris and there are lots of smaller ones in between. Castle hopping is the new happy! Find out more information here
- Surf Snowdonia – who could be glum whilst learning to surf? Forget your sorrows at Surf Snowdonia – Britain’s only artificial surfing lake, complete with gorgeous views and perfect waves…. Find out more information here
- Tryweryn White Water Rafting, near Bala – you’ll be so busy clinging onto your canoe that there’ll be no time for political analysis…. One of the country’s best white water rafting centres is just a stone’s throw from the Oakeley Arms Hotel. Find out more information here
- Gypsy Wood Park, near Caernarfon – who could be glum when faced with a baby hamster, pygmy goats and a whole host of other gorgeous animals to melt your heart? You’ll also find miniature railways, adventure playgrounds and plenty to keep the whole family entertained. There’s also a resident Fairy Godmother, so you could always try and make a wish….
