Romantic Valentine’s Day Food

February 11th, 2016

So we all know that food is the way to a man’s heart right? Well, for most of the women we know, you can probably say that the same is true for girls too. So long as it’s good food, right? We don’t mean Findus Crispy Pancakes and oven chips (not that there’s anything wrong with crispy pancakes and chips, just not for a special dinner…). We mean a lovingly cooked, well thought-out, beautifully presented dinner. Not asking too much are we?

Cooking up a delicious meal for your loved one is a fantastic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day – all those hours of preparation and slaving over a hot stove will show them just how much you care! So if you’re thinking of a romantic dinner for two on Sunday then read on for the world’s most aphrodisiac and romantic Valentin’es Day food – raised heart rates are almost guaranteed…..oo-er!

  • Oysters – of course, the traditional aphordisiac! They might not look the most appealing of dinners but these beauties contain lots of zinc and apparently some clever amino acids that trigger the production of sex hormones.
  • Chillies – if you like your chilli peppers red hot then so much the better because hot chillies speed up your heart rate, make you sweat and give you a flush, and all these things happen in moments of lust too.
  • Avocados – did you know that avocados are packed full of Vitamin E, and it is this that tops up your energy level and gives you a youthful glow. Both useful things on a romantic night in…..
  • Olive Oil – the ancient Greeks firmly believed that plenty of olive oil helps to keep men virile. Worth a go?
  • Chocolate – enough said!
  • Watermelon – this superfruit apparently relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow, which is quite similar to what the drug viagra does…..
  • Bananas – aside from their um “romantic” shape, bananas also contain lots of bromelain which triggers the production of testosterone, a hormone essential for sex drive.
  • Figs – the jury’s out as to whether these funny fruits are scientifically an aphrodisiac, but Adam and Eve certainly thought they were pretty romantic.
  • Coffee – coffee helps to boost your heart rate and keeps you wide awake, so make sure you serve your loved one a coffee after a delicious meal.
  • Strawberries – these heart shaped juicy little fruits are packed full of Vitamin C which helps blood flow to every part of the body…
  • Pumpkin Seeds – sprinkle your dinner with these little seeds and you’ll have a super big hit of magnesium, which helps to boost testosterone levels.
