The Oakeley Arms Cask Marque
January 13th, 2014
Here at The Oakeley Arms, we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards, whether that is with our food, drink or
accommodation. Recently, we were delighted to be awarded a Cask Marque: one of only a select few in North Wales to hold the honour.
As the availability of cheap and cheerful lagers seems to increase, it’s cask ales that have suffered with them not being found nearly enough in modern day public houses. However, by awarding the premier in pubs with the award, the Cask Marque has brought more attention to the great drinks that may have flown under your radar.
At The Oakeley Arms, we provide a fine selection of cask ales with many of them featuring in the nation’s favourite beers. Of note in the top 30 is Purple Moose which is often lauded as a full-flavoured drink which is on tap at reputable pubs across Wales. Other local ales such as Great Orme and Tomos Watkin are available also with the specially-produced Oakeley Dokeley Beer being exclusive to us here at The Oakeley Arms.
To attain Cask Marque is no easy thing and this is why The Oakeley Arms are very proud of earning such a distinction. Special assessors were sent to determine whether Oakeley fit the bill against some quite strict guidelines. Oakeley were awarded the honour with flying colours.
You can also find us on the Ale Trail section of the Cask Marque app: a service dedicated to providing easy to find locations across Britain which have earned the award. There are only a handful of pubs across North Wales which can claim Cask Marque with Oakeley being the only establishment in all of Blaenau Ffestiniog to hold the title.
If you’re yet to sample some of the cask ale at The Oakeley Arms, make sure you download the Cask Marque app on your smartphone and we’ll be delighted to pour you a cold one the second you step through the door.
